A ghost in the forest

Axel walked through the woods deadly quiet. Not even his boots hitting the ground made a noise. He closed his eyes and reachedis sences out searching for something, or someone. He stopped when he senced someone. It wasn't quite human but nor quite animal. Could it be an anthro? Axel was curios now and set out looking for the creater through the twilight filled woods. He had his eyes closed and just let his 'sixth' sent take him along his way.

Kana sat by the river sighing heavely her soft green eyes HEr long silver hair falling and hideing her face. HEr tail flicked back and forth slowly adn when she senced something comeing closer. Her head shot up looking around her animalistic face held sadness and lonely ness but also a sweet kindeness that not many could see past her harsh snow leopard looks.

The ghost like skin of Axel's stood out in the twilight. From looking at him, he looked no more then 15. He opened his eyes, and looked at the Anthro. Just by looking at her he could sence her deep lonelyness. He sympathised with her, because he felt that pain too. Axel stood now only a mere 10 feet away.

Kana stood in a stance that was not like anything he had ever seen "Who arrrrrre you sssirrrr..."she said in a deep purring voice. She moved as if she was going to transform and run away her silver fur shineing in the moonlight.

"Me? I am Axel Nell Vail." Axel said with a bow. His voice didn't help ether. He even sounded young. "I senced you and was curious as to what you were. But now I see you're an Anthro." His voice was soft and the moonlight made him seem more like a ghost.

"Issss that a prrrroblem"She said purrring softly through her words her tail flicked and she looked at him with periceing Green eyes but she could senced that he was much older then he appered to be.

"No, it is not." Axel said sitting down at the river bank. He closed his and alowed his sences to wounder the area. He could feel her studying him and he looked over at her.

She watched him intently and said "What arrrrre you...you arrrre olderrr then you appearrrr"She said runign her fingers through ehr hari her tail flicking over the water.

"Most mortals wouldn;t be able to pick up on that. Yes I am older then I appear. I'm about 900 years old." Axel said looking at the girl. "And I am well, a being made of the shadows. I am the holder of the key to the heart of everybeing. And a sign of a bad omen." Axel said closing his eyes and watching the water flow by.

"Bad omen? I dont think that you arrrrre that....Bad Omens look Fairrrerrrr and Feel slimmyerrrrr."SHe said in a very wise Tone. SHe ran her fingers through ehr long hair ocne more and start tog et to ehr feeet once more. She was not threatening she was just alittle confused.

"You seem troubled? Is there anything I need to explain?" Axel asked not getting up but just staired out over the river. The wind blew through his hair gently as he listened to the sounds of the forest.

"Its jsut that you ssssshow up on teh 2 year aniverserrrrry of my parrrrentssss and ssssiblingssss deathssss..."She said in ehr purring voice SHe sighed and ran her fingers over the surface of the water gentaly. It rippled and swayed and she smiled softly as she did this.

"I morn the dead. Their were more like me at one point in time, but now I am the only one left. It was I that escorted your family to otherside. Usually only the ones family's i tend to can see me, besides that they can only see me if i will it." Axel said looking over at the girl. His eyes were open and he studied her now.

She looked at himw ith soft green eyes and nodded slowly and said "Then I can at least know that they are in a beter place then this hell hole..."She said showing a strange violence that was that of a wild cat. She bit her lip calming her anger then she said "Why are you here then?"

"Trust me they are...As for why I am here? I was simiply taking a walk." Axel said as the moonlight rebounded off his white eyes. He side glanced at her. "I'd ferry you to see them but I'm not sure if you'd make the return trip." He said trailing off with a sigh.

"What do you mean?"She said her ears perking up She looked at him with big green eyes filled with hope.

"I mean," Axel said taking a sigh. "That if you acompany me to the shadow realm, you could more then likely come back like me. Or worse" He finished softly and didn't look over at her.

"How would be worse...What could be worse..."SHe said said her ears falling her tail fallng limp she was now kind adissaponted that she was not going to see them again.

"Death. But you would not be with them. You would be sent to hell. Any mortal trying to enter the shadow realm before their time will go to hell if they should die on the trip." Axel said looking at the girl now.

she nodded her ears falling conpletly. Her eyes closeing as she sat down."Okay I underrrr dtand ssssir..."

"I'm sorry.." Axel said softly and put a hand on her shoulder. He was quiet but he sounded genuin.

"YOu know...ssssome times I think Hell would be worrrrth sssseeing them again...jusssst One lasssst Time...The lassssst thing I sssaid to my Ssssiblingssss wassss that I could not ssssstand them any longerrrrr and Had to leave..."She said looking at her fuzzy hands a few clouding her vision but she bit them back and held her head high "Oh well it wassss jusssst wisssshful thinking..."

"I wish I could bring them back here but I can't." Axel said quietly and took his hand away from her shoulder. "You could very well live the proccess and not come out looking like me." Axel said softly.

"What isssss the Prrrrobobility of that?"She siad gently smileing sadly at him. She twisted her hair gentaly.

"Uhm...60%...give or take ten." Axel said looking over at her. His eyes were like soft white moons.
